The Daily Blog (April 13) - Elliott

When the class arrived to our room today our desk had been rearranged and it was very loud in the classroom. Once the room was quiet Mr. McMurray told the class, “If you’re not done with your Theme Skills Test, finish it now, and for the people who did finish should start reading."

Once everybody was done with the Theme Skills Test, we completed our Math Problem of the Day. For the Problem of the Day we classified triangles and named a shape that has one pair of parallel sides: a trapezoid. When we were done with that we corrected our homework.

Once we were done correcting our homework we completed a math vocabulary activity involving modal verbs. After that, we went to the Science Lab and completed an experiment with Mrs. Foy-Couche of a diaphragm model. We are studying human body systems. After we were done with the experiment we went to recess.

We came back to the Science Lab from recess and started learning about bronchial nose and the windpipe of the human body. Once we finished with our science class, Mr. McMurray picked us up and we went back to our classroom. Mr. McMurray then told us about a science movie that we were going to start watching. The movie was about the human body.

We then starting talking about horses and the famous African-American cowboy of the frontier, Bob Lemmons. We are reading “Black Cowboy, Wild Horses.” We started spelling and corrected our homework. When we were finished it was time for lunch followed by recess.

We finished lunch and recess and came inside and we started silent reading. We then watched a math video and also had five minutes to read or work on our Earth Day posters.

Just before we ended the day, Mr. McMurray told us about he A’s baseball game on Thursday. We corrected our homework and by that time we had completed another day in Room 16.
