The Daily Blog (Feb 9) - Will

This week is all about reports in Room 16. First thing in the morning when we arrived in class, we talked about our Native American reports and our biography book reports and when we would present them. Next, we took a math test (joy of joys!) then watched a slide show about atoms. We topped it all of with some fun — looking at photos from our class parties.

Next, it was time for science. We learned how electricity spreads through water easier when there are particles in the water. After that, we discussed the upcoming Winter Olympics in Canada and talked about who the top contenders are. Then Mr. McMurray read Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry to the class. When we finished, we took the “theme skills test” for language arts; it covers spelling, reading, grammar and so on.

After that, we went to lunch. When we finished lunch, we had recess and then returned to class. But Julia and I handed out reminders to all the classes about the student council meeting tomorrow. Julia went back to class, then Tyler joined me to finish the job. We continued working, either finishing up our tests or working on our reports. The school day ended on a positive note — we got the last 30 minutes of school outside because we did a good job on Monday with a substitute teacher.

I played basketball, while others played football or on the playground. Eventually the bell rang, ending our fun and sending us home or to other after-school activities.
