The Daily Blog (Jan 27) - Kailani

This morning Mr. McMurray picked us up from the blacktop and led us to class. When we got to class we had an indoor flag salute assembly because of the cold weather. The Student Council secretary and treasurer pulled Proctor Pride points from the Treasure Box and Krystalina actually had her name pulled!

After that was over we went to go to the Too Good For Drugs program but our instructor, Deputy Costieu, was not there. So we made our way back to class to correct our homework from last night. After that was completed we worked on a math practice that we do that's called the Problem of the Day! We worked on multiplying decimals.

After some of that practice with decimals we went to this thing that we call RTI or fifth grade Languge Art Centers. For that we all split up into three groups. Some of us go to Ms. Rainey's class, some go to Mrs. Pisciotto's class, and some just stay in Mr. McMurray's class.

Following that we went to recess at the top blacktop. Again Mr. McMurray led us back to class and he read a chapter of the book we are reading called Roll Of Thunder, Hear My Cry. After the chapter, we discussed the exciting events of the chapter about how Cassie Logan and her brothers got their revenge on the school bus driver who always tried to splash them on the dirt road as they walked to school.

Social Studies was next. We researched the tribe that we are doing on the computer or in our textbooks. We got information on what their life was like before their removal from their lands. It was nearing the end of the day so we met with our Literature Circle groups and confirmed what our jobs are for tomorrow morning.

At the very last thing of the day we wrote down our homework and headed out the classroom door!
