The Daily Blog (Oct 14) - Julia (sub for Justin)

It did not rain today. Yet, the upper field was wet so we didn’t sit down to wait for our teacher. We stood and waited for Mr.McMurray to come, and he did. We walked down the stairs, into the classroom, everybody took down their chairs, and sat down. Next we took out our homework and corrected it.

We started with language arts, and once we finished that we did one more worksheet on Eye of the Storm. One side of the worksheet was about combining sentences with words known as conjunctions. The other side was where we took three words and alphabetized them as guide words and an entry word.

After that Mr. McMurray asked, “Does everybody have their homework?” Everywhere people were looking around and saying, “Yes, yes.” But wait!!! Noooooooooooo. A couple of classmates forgot their homework, unfortunately, so Mr. McMurray had to deduct two paperclips from the Paperclip Chain.

Once that was done, Mr. McMurray took out Bridge to Terabithia - our class book - and he read one chapter. This chapter was a very interesting and happy chapter.

Then we got to math. We corrected that homework and that took about 20 minutes. Then we got our Problem of the Day. (Ironically, we haven’t done that in a few days). Surprisingly, we did a lot of stuff before snack recess. The bell rang and everybody scurried off to recess.

Soon enough recess was over. Once we got back to class we started working on a shopping list/work sheet and our goal was to think of a different way to organize the list.

After that we discussed our Explorer’s projects and he told us how we will have to do five different things. We have to draw a flag, do a title page with our name and the Explorer’s name, and insert a drawn picture or picture from the Internet. The project will also include a written essay and a hand drawn map of the traveler’s sea route.

Mr. McMurray announced tonight’s homework, we put chairs up and left ready to come back to another day at Proctor Elementary
