Daily Blog: Ruth

Roving Reporter Ruth

Happy February, readers! I’m going to start off the new month with a short Wednesday report! I encourage you to look at the ‘Information’ section at the bottom of the page. Please, sit back and enjoy reading a detailed report on Mr. McMurray’s Room 16 news!!!!!!!!!!

At 8:10, we started our day by getting out of the chill. The school morning opened with an indoor flag assembly with our newest student council members. Our class is proud to announce that our very own Rachel has been elected Student Body Secretary! The council pulled pride points and made some announcements, like ‘tomorrow is Groundhog Day’.

Afterwards, we had an integer-esting math lesson where we used red and yellow counters (foam circles, about the size and width of Sacagawea coins), to solve integer problems such as:

4- + -2
5+ + 3-
1-  +  2+

When 10:30 came around, we had indoor recess and watched some of the movie ‘Up’. Then everyone gathered up their Math Notebooks and pencils to go to a separate classroom for Math Groups. Some people went to Mrs. Pischiotto, some to Mrs. Kerner, and some remained with Mr. McMurray.

Those that had gone to separate classrooms returned at 11:45 to copy down our homework. Then we packed up, said goodbye, and went to get some lunch. Luckily, the sun came out, and most had a beautiful afternoon!

I sincerely hope that you enjoyed my report, and remember, check the blog every night- but with a hopeful voice whispering from within you, “Is Ruth here? Does she have a report up? I wonder what great Roving Reports she’ll make next…”
