Roving Reporter: Jacoby (Nov 1st)

Hello! I am Jacoby. I'll be your roving reporter for today.  Lets get started with our first day of November. 


We had our first recess for the kids that come early. At 8:10 a.m. Mr. McMurray walked us to class. Once we got to class we worked on math. During math we were learning something new: adding  and subtracting fractions. 


For math we did problems off a test that we did one week ago. When we were done with the problems, Mr. McMurray read us a book called Al Capone Does My Shirts. We just finished chapter 17. 


After Mr. McMurray read the book we worked on  more math! 


This time we learned about fractions with unlike denominators and we also got a sneak preview of Chapter 8 (adding fractions with unlike denominators), but we are on Chapter 7. Then we did subtraction with renaming with our 12 o'clock partners. 


Clock partners is when Mr. McMurray says work with your Clock Partner, in your composition book where its says who your Clock Partner is then, and you work with them on what Mr. McMurray assigned to you and your partner.  


The problems that  we had to do were in our workbook, numbers 1-5 and 16-19. At 10:30 a.m we had recess. 


After recess Mr. McMurray passed out our math tests. Mr. McMurray said that the scores on the test were booming. When the kids heard that they were so happy. If you got 9 or up that means you  passed, if you got 8 or down you didn't pass. And if you want a re-test you can have one this Friday. 


After that we worked in our composition  books, we learned about clauses, phrases, and complex sentences. After we worked in our composition books we did a spelling pre-test. Mira  got 100 percent. 


At 11:40 we went to Mac Lab with Mrs. Dunn. Only 9 people went and the other 20 will go later. At computers we went to Think Central and did math and language arts. It was very easy. 


At 12:30 we went to lunch. During lunch recess we had a football game. It was the 49ers versus the Eagles.  The 49ers won by 1-point. The final score was 15 to 14. 


When lunch and recess was over the 20 other people went to Mac Lab. While the other 20 people were in Mac Lab the other 9 kids were working on science. At 1:45 some kids went to Read Naturally. 


After Mac Lab and Read Naturally we all went to choir. At choir we learned one new song. It was called Rose and we practiced Hail To The Chiefs. 


At 2:50 it  was time to go home and let the kids start their fun afternoon.
