Roving Reporter: Katelyn

Happy Thursday...I'm Katelyn, your Roving Reporter for today, October 27th, 2011.  I'm glad to be your Roving Reporter.

Today we started off with our daily warm-ups.  It took about 15 minutes, then we corrected them.  The warm-up problems were fairly easy.

Following the warm-ups, the class went to P.E.  We played soccer and were passing a ball to a partner.  We practiced how to pass and trap a ball.  We got our first "Awesome!" in a few weeks!  P.E. was kind of short.

Once that was done, we arrived at the classroom around 10 a.m.  Then we corrected our homework pages, PW41 and the Reading Comprehension.  Also, we corrected practice book page 45.  Once we finished, we ate snack at 10:30 a.m. and got back to the classroom at 10:50 a.m.  When we got back from recess, the class learned how to identify a mixed number and decimal on a number line.

Mr. McMurray assigned us to do a math page on identifying mixed numbers and decimals and then putting them in order from least to greatest.  We only did about seven problems.  It was fun!

When that was over, we corrected the math paper and learned what prepositional phrases were, prepositions, and more.

Next we went to lunch and had recess.  For lunch they had bean and cheese burritos and chicken and cheese fajitas.  The food was delectable.  After recess, the kids went to band and strings. That took about 30 to 40 minutes.

When we got back, the kids worked on our explorer reports (some kids did it in groups).  That was at about half an hour to forty-five minutes.

After the explorer report, we filled out our Quarterback Club papers and everyone hoped that they would guess all of the correct football teams.  GO SAINTS!

When there were few more minutes left of school, Nathaniel and Alisa came up to the front of the class and shared to the class about the pumpkin carving contest.  The categories were scariest, celebrity, funniest, and most creative.

In the end, Renee's mom came into the classroom to speak with us about the Haunted House.  I hope that it will be spooky.

Last but not least, we copied down our homework and as we walked out the door, we each got a piece of candy because we got an "Awesome" in P.E.

I'm Katelyn, your Roving Reporter.  Thank you.
