The Daily Blog - Ester

At the flag assembly we recited the Pledge of Allegiance. Then, Mr. McMurray, Mr. Silzle and Mr. Burgess announced the teams and team captains for flag football. They had special names for every team captain. The names were all funny. Then we went back to the classroom.

We did warm-up at around 8:35am. The warm-up includes cursive, geography and a problem of the day. For cursive, we wrote: fun-filled Fridays fly by fast. Some summer Saturdays start slowly. The geography questions were: Which state territories are located on a B grid square? Which capitals are located in a 6 grid square? And last but not least, the math problem of the day is: Kara and her friends are planning imaginary vacations. Norman plans to bicycle an average of 25 miles per day for 12 days. How could you use the distributive property to find the total number of miles in Norman's trip?

After the warm-up, we started writing our essays. Everyone who finished before recess got 20 McMurray bucks. McMurray bucks are pieces of paper that we use as our money. We also have a checkbook that we record every buck we earned.

Then, we were correcting our Math. We have six problems to correct. Marcellas did this Math problem: 83 times 8. Blaike did the problem: 39 times 5. Benson did the problem: 92 times 11. Jacob did the problem: 47 times 8. Esther did the problem: 58 times 6. Josh did the problem: 74 times 8.

Two minutes before ten o'clock, Mr. McMurray started the Math lesson. The Math is about expanded form multiplication. We have Problems #12 to #21 on page 68. If we finished early, we could keep going with other Math problems.

At 10:30am, we have recess. For homework, we have Math and essay if we didn't finish it. We have an optional water cycle project. We worked on the water cycle project in class.

The class was dismissed by noon because today is Wednesday.
