The Daily Blog (Dec 10) - Griffin

It was a crisp autumn morning when we got picked up by Mr. McMurray today. When we came in we got ready to go to computers.

In computers with Mrs. Dunn, we played games to help with our typing skills, then a choice between 5 games.

While Group 2 was at computers we did Literature Circles. Sarah just joined our group while we just finished “The Forgotten Door,” by Alexander Key.

After we all came back, we finished our class Spelling Bee from yesterday. Sarah came in first and I was the runner-up. Then it was RECESS!!!!!!

The Crazy Fire Koalas played the Steelers. The Koalas won with Ondray catching the winning catch with almost no time to spare. Then we came back to class for math.

We practiced subtracting fractions until some people went to library. In library we started reading “No Talking” by Andrew Clements.

When we were all back we played, "What’s the Difference?" which is a math game involving the subtraction of fractions. To win, you have to create the smallest answer from subtracting two fractions you have to create with four cards with any number between 1 and 8.

Then we went to lunch.

When we came back from lunch recess, a lot of people worked on catch-up work.

Then we went to our Language Arts rooms. At Mrs. Pisciotto's room we finished Synonyms, Lesson 1 and started Lesson 2.

After that, another school day ended. It was a productive day

  1. "What’s the Difference?" sounds like a fun game for learning or practicing fraction subtractions.
