At 8:10, October 5, 2009, it's a very chilly morning. We start off the day with Monday's Daily Exercises. Mr. McMurray was talking with the class about latitude and longitude. During that, Marcus and Kabrien had to finish the science test since they were absent on Friday. Mr. McMurray said, "Monday through Wednesday, we will have groups of six that will be doing an activity on the computer in the mornings."
At 9:05, Mr. McMurray let Sarah lead the flag salute. Then, she picked students to share their weekend.
Afterwards, Mr. McMurray dismissed some students to go to band. When the students came back, we started a new subject. We did math (division). The teacher chose some students to write problems on the board. We had some trouble with the math, but we got the hang of it.
Once that was done, we went to recess at 10:30. There was a flag football game. So far, the undefeated Pandas were in the lead. We had found out that they won against Stanford!
Upon returning to class, we went on to our Rottweiler essays. Some of us just needed to write some notes. We just needd a little break so Mr. McMurray pulled out Bridge to Terabithia. During that, we were still finishing up before the bell rings!
It was 12:30. That means it was time for lunch. My friends and I sat, talked, and ate. After the yard duty let us free, we quietly walked up to the upper playground. The bell rang, so we lined up and Mrs. Pane picked us up.
Our class walked down and ran a warm-up lap. Afterwards, we sat on our spots and Group 4 led the exercises. When we were finished, we ran the half-mile and Mason finished first. Then we played Medic Dodgeball. We had a great effort and we got our first AWESOME from Mrs. Pane. "Wow, this is great!" Mr. McMurray said.
Once that was finished, we went in and finished reading Eye of the Storm. We started discussing about fact and opinion, and photographs in nonfiction writing. We went across the room as we read aloud. It was alsmot 2:50 so we hurried and packed. We had math and writing skills from Nature's Fury for homework.
It was a long day. I am sure that the students just wanted to go home and relax. I'm sure that today we learned a lot. Tomorrow just another day.
