The Daily Blog (Sept 28) - Kailani

This morning we walked into the class and I heard a couple of people say, "Ah... the smell of the classroom!"

We sat down in our seats as Mr. McMurray said good morning. Then he passed out our Daily Exercises. There were things in there about Australia for geography, and then there were some multiplication problems for math, as well as some sentence editing problems for language arts.

After that, Claire, our class president, led us in the flag salute. Then we just had some time to relax and share our weekends. I heard some things like soccer games, someone got a new horse, sleepovers and Mr. McMurray's was about a stolen bike seat.

Since we didn't get to correct some of the pages in our Daily Exercises last week, we did that this morning, and while we were doing that Brenda, Sarah and G'ana organized our books in our class library.

At about 9:15 the people in band went to band class. And the others that stayed in class were reading. Afterwards when they got back we took a math chapter test. Some questions were on a worksheet that he gave us and some we got out of our math book on page 80. We did that until it was time for recess at 10:30.

During recess there was a flag football game: 49ers against Stanford. Once recess was finished we lined up and Mr. McMurray greeted us at the top playground. He picked us up and led us to class. When we got there the people that had not finished their math test finished that up while the people that were finished started reading.

Once that was done, Mr. McMurray showed us a neat projector display about El Niño (the boy) and La Niña (the girl) they are basically storms, floods, mudslides and fires.

At 12:30pm we went to lunch. Following that, we had a 20 minute lunch recess. Instead of returning to class, Mrs. Pane picked us up for P.E.

During P.E. we ran a quarter-mile as Mrs. Pane had a stopwatch ready for us to come by. After we all finished she told us to pick a team of 7 or 8 so we did. Then she took our groups and put us on the volleyball court and we started playing!

Afterwards she took us down to our spots and told us we were going to do stretches. When we were getting ready to start, Mr. McMurray came, so right before we were about to go back to class Mrs. Pane told us what score we got. We had almost got an *awesome* but there was some talking, so we only got a *good,* but hopefully we get an *awesome* next week!

Upon returning to class we reviewed our homework for the night. Then one of the last things of the day is he told us our groups for the Social Studies projects, and then our group had to look up things about the cultural region that he assigned us.

Finally, Mr. McMurray gave out Proctor Pride Points to people that gave in book and software orders. Finally the bell rang and school was out!

Hopefully we can earn more paperclips for 100% homework completion by the entire class tomorrow!
